It Hurts

That game fucking sucked. I know it. You know it. Everyone that isn't from Wisconsin knows it. It made me sad. Really fucking sad.

I was at my cousin's wedding yesterday. Right on the border of Wisconsin and Illinois. It was a beautiful wedding. Her parents came in from Israel, they didn't know how monumental the day was. Of course, they did though. Prettiest bride I've ever seen. The saving grace was seeing my cousin see the girl that'll keep him happy for the rest of his life. It was a great time. I did the electric slide till the soles of my shoes wore out my soul. But, I'm fucking sad. I'll give you this advice ladies. Don't have your wedding during the playoffs if you want the day to be all about you. Or else it might look something like this. Yea, I know the picture sucks but you get the idea. All you can see is the back of my dad, but believe me, there were thirty people in the bar at all times.

  1. I think I may have been one of the only people in Chicago that didn't watch today's game.

  3. What kind of an IDIOT would try to compete with a nation's sport obsession? I sure as shit wouldn't try to get married when the All Blacks are playing!!

    . . . What sport was it?

  4. I can sympathize. That was how I felt last week when my Ravens had the game wrapped up at the end of the first half and completely dove-tailed. Effing Steelers!

Oh, I've already decided when I get married it cannot happen in Jan/Early Feb to avoid clashes with football playoffs. And it sure as hell isn't happening in October. I'd hate to have to miss my own wedding if the Orioles were in the World Series.

  5. I never understood why people do such things. I mean I am not a football fan or any sort of sports fanatic but I would never make my wedding on important game days, I mean what is the point? Just to torture everyone?

  6. Sorry about your Bears, Chris. Being a Steelers fan I was hoping to meet you in the Super Bowl. *grins evilly and runs off*

  7. aww, don't be sad, i agree, there is always next year. on the bright side, you got to enjoy an awesome wedding! Who knows, maybe the pretty bride has sisters who you could pursue? Or who knows, maybe you like to do weddings in "wedding crashers" style. ;)

  10. Beer: That's probably a good thing, for you.

David: The Packers. I hate them so much.

Peridot: It was football. And to be fair she was very awesome about it and didn't mind the groom even checking in on the game from time to time. No one in my family even really thought about it being a problem because well, we're not used to the Bears actually getting to the playoffs let alone getting far in them.

Tracy: Yea, I couldn't believe the Ravens blew that game. Your receivers have butter fingers big time (not that I can talk). There is the bye week before the superbowl if a wedding must be held this time of year.

  11. Penny: I can't really be mad at the bride. She is from Israel, the groom I had a little talk with though. It was OK though, it was fun just coulda been on a better date.

Robyn: Well, everyone in Chicago is now a Steelers fan too. You better beat those cheeseheads!

watchmen: Yea, we'll see. That's what I said in 2006 and next year never came.

Philosophia: Beautiful sisters, and I got a little dancing in. Wasn't a complete waste to be sure.

Jacqueson: Thanks, I think it fits well with the mood around here most times. It's from Fyodor Doestoevsky's Notes From Underground if you were curious.

Victoria: I was wondering if people would get offended or like that picture! Come back anytime.
